Receiving additional links to my website

Last week I posted links on this blog back to pages that had yet to be indexed. I was testing how long it would take google to scan and/or list those pages. In the case of my test, google has yet to locate these pages. This doesn't go along with what I have been finding. In most cases I have been finding that google quickly (within a day or two) scans my pages even if it doesn't list them. I wonder if this has anything to do with the holiday weekend.

I will do an additional test here and see what happens. Below are some additional links to two different websites. I will check them out tomorrow and see where we are at.

So I've been playing around and am in the process of creating a shopping website that has millions of products, not to buy but to find.  This website will get indexed, I hope, and will link to not only my website but many other websites.  On Tuesday afternoon I started getting pages indexed and within 3 hours I had 4 pages indexed.  I did this by posting links in a blog.  The next morning I posted another blog with 3 more links.  As of this writing I have 21 pages indexed.  Not bad I would say.

What this tells me is that blogs are great for getting pages/sites indexed by google.  I can't promise you a top 10 in google but it does appear that you can effectively use blogs to help get pages listed.  I suspect this can be abused but don't right it does help. 

As a test I have added 5 links below.  I will be watching to see if these pages get indexed more quickly than normal.  I will report back when I know more.
